Who are you?

Take a step back and watch the world unfold in front of your eyes.

You may just be surprised, at what you see.

Be part of something you can't explain.

As common as the rain.

Don't be afraid.

To feel pain.

Yet I Remain

Yet I Remain

I live in a world of captive fantasy,
Hearing sounds of laughter from the past.
Quickly I am aware of the pain.
I cannot breath, yet I remain.

White light of true love blinds me,
I can see no further then what has been.
And with this empty passion raging in my brain,
I cannot breath, yet I remain.

In pursuing the lies of a shredded heart,
Fall sorrow and anger as the rain.
And as I ride the tail of this fallen star,
I cannot breath, yet I remain.

Long exhausting anticipation
Of a love that will never be,
Has lead me back to that place again.
And as I shut my eyes and try to sleep,
I cannot breath, yet I remain.

What Comes Naturally

I find that when depressed and drunken,
     I am a better writer.
And when happy and in love,
     A better musician.

The All Night Artichoke Stand

I lifted my head at the bus depot to talk to the wind,
     but it did not answer.
So I waited and waited, but no answer.
Stepped cautiously in, found my favorite seat.
The guy with the hat was there again.

The driver recognized me but made no attempt to acknowledge.
The passengers stir in their own private spaces.
No one speaks, only the lonely.
     And they never stop.
The floor is usually littered with trash, the whole trip mundane.
Disconnection resets itself on my shoulders.
Memories turn their head from the seat in front of me.
A few seats up the future mocks me.
And from the back the past haunts me.

How did I get here and why am I staying.
I am on auto pilot, the routine is fun.
     But not serious.
My thoughts remind me of nothing.
I started smoking again, just like before.
It's the routine, it's soothing and familiar.
     It's all wrong.

Nothing has changed but the weather and the weather remains.
I pretend that I am not one of them.
In fact I am the most steady player of this awful game.
This is the unfortunate tale of a tortured soul.
It is very old, indeed it is very old.

I have seen this before but cannot remember when.
The bus responds to my call to stop and I clamber off.
Hey you with your daily routine and your monotone life.
You with your BMW and your full lipped wife.
And you with the big knife.
Put it aside and take a good long look.

We all share the same space.
The chemist can live with the poet.
The anarchist can live with the pet shop owner.
The model can live with the lottery agent,
and the mother can live with the child.
One day we were all gone.
Does it bring us back to the very beginning, before everything.
Or does it bring us to the end, of everything.
     Who is to know.

No one needs to fear you, with the cash.
There is nothing you can do.
We are all racist, even amongst our own.
There are no answers,
     And nobody is right.
No one writer, no poet, no singer or songwriter,
And no musician.
No painter or pauper, no scholar or sculptor.
No inventor or magician, and no dancer.
     No thinker or doer.
     No hack or moviegoer.
No teacher or sinner, or pistolier's daughter.

excerpt from Georgia Pumpkins

A fight over Roweena is about to break.

Lizards scatter, tables turn, people gather.

"Five to one on John Blake."

"Six to four on Stan that he knocks him down. Either way the victor gets the crown."

and the loser will eat the largest steak.

Ladies shout stop, don't, they laugh and turn away.

Kids push in to see the action.

Dogs bark.

Old people remain sitting down.

There's another one down by the lake.

"It's all too much fun," says John Blake.

     "I have already won."

Burgers, corn, squash, checkers, flies, melon, music.

A short distance away a bird watches from its nest.

Long shadows creep in from the west.

HER

     Meet.
Much to say, nothing said. I want Her. She doesn't know me. The urgency. Reality. Availability. My brain swells and I'm dizzy. Look at her face, look at the sun. Danger. The stop sign. Red. It hurts. I want Her to know me. Then she smiles. My heart jumps to the other side of my chest. I catch it and throw it back. Still beating. Two different worlds. We're the same. She leaves.
I see Her again. Her. No longer have control. Must go there. Somewhere. Leaping from the bridge I grab the legs of the bird in flight. So much lighter. No explanation, and still no words. She's a Picasso. She's famous art. I want to stare at Her for hours and listen to her voice for days on end, then a couple more. Unfair. Look at Her. Just look. It will blind me to continue.
Skip steps. Cut the line. Cheat on the test. Learn from mistakes. I deserve Her. She deserves me. Great strength. I need to smell her hair. Walk beside Her. See the world. Live. Love. She is my drug.
Natural. She fits. Slow dance on the pier. Fine wine. Laughter. Let's go there. Moving water changes the earth. There's greatness here. Look ma, no hands.
She makes me nervous but I feel calm. Can't explain. I leave. Come back and stay. I can live for centuries with Her. Climb mountains. Achieve. I make mistakes. She doesn't know. She does. She says no. I survive.
     Look at Her.
     Don't touch.
     Just look.
     At Her.

Thought of this Day 111412

In the chronological evolution of life on planet earth, humans are new born infants.

And as infants we are constantly screaming, wanting, and needing. We take responsibility for

absolutely nothing.

And if left alone to fend for ourselves, we shall most certainly perish.

The Dark

         The Dark

Here within the absence
     Of the light
Cry the memories loud
     I hear each night.
Carrying with them
     A shroud of pain
Woefully recounted by
     My wilted brain.
For here in the dark
     I lay awake
Through haunted pasts
     will sorrow break.
My sunken hollow
     drunken eyes
Will pray for the dawn
     And that sun to rise.

Key people working for the USDA that decide what foods to feed our children in schools are in financial relationships with multi million dollar processed food corporations and essentially is why the nutritional value of school meals is so appalling. This is just one of many examples of why large corporate greed and corruption is destroying our nation.  Our children are obese and run high risk of heart disease so corporate executives can get richer. Yeah, this seems like the right direction to go in. Let's vote republican.

The Future of Religion

In a hundred years time, religion will become a forbidden practice. Those who do practice will be forced to live in small communities and blindly worship outlawed gods. Eventually it will all fade away, and the belief that some greater being exists to guide us through life will be no more. We will then all live in peace.

How much more bullshit!?

There's only three reasons why you would be a supporter of the Republican Party.

1 - You're rich

2 - You're racist

3 - Or you're both

Mitt Romney and the republicans

…I cannot support the Republican Party…

Besides wanting to make the rich richer, which is already enough to make you sick, Mitt Romney wants to allow large corporations to rape American soil by drilling and fracking for oil and natural gas with little or no regulations, under the guise that this will create more jobs for Americans.
It will not create more jobs for Americans, in fact, what it will do, is put more money into the pockets of the CEO’s of these companies, keeping the middle class poorer, and the upper class richer.

I sit behind the controls of the multimedia equipment for these private meetings of these modern day Robber Barons, and though I am not allowed to disclose what I overhear through the amplification system, I am allowed by civil rights to absorb the information and discuss it as I see fit. And by my calculations, or summaries if you will, these “Republican” money hungry bastards have nothing else on their minds but money. Not the American people, not the economy, not the environment, and certainly not the poor. All that’s on their mind, is THEIR money. I’ll say it again, “Just Their Money”.

The problem with this financially focused environmentally blind culture is, it’s not money that sustains human life, it’s the natural resources of earth, the planet we live on, that sustains all life.  And when a person, running for the office of the president of the United States stands before me and declares that he is not concerned about the earth or it’s depletion of natural resources I say,

..I cannot support the Republican Party…

You could live a day or two without money, perhaps many more, but how many days can you live without oxygen or fresh water.

The answers are :

Water - about three days, give or take.

Oxygen  - about three minutes, maybe.

Mitt Romney is a plastic puppet. He is a puppet in the hands of blind men.

A man whose religion is based on a “vision” of some crazed New Englander from the 1800’s. I’ll say it again, his religion is based on a crazed man’s vision from the eighteen hundreds. That’s right, the eighteen hundreds.

You do what you have to do on election day.

But in the end it's all up to the electoral college...WTF is that all about? Can we get out of the stone age?

Q: Do chick insects have tits?

A: No.

How boring the world must have been before the invention of electricity.

When someone asks a kid what they want to be when they grow up, do you think any of them anywhere in the world ever say, Metallurgist?

"What are you interested in Johnny?"

"Not sure, but breaking down metals into their original molecular compounds and observing how they react under controlled environments in laboratories sort of interests me. I guess."

What would the world be like - If  when we all spoke to each other we sounded like we do when we suck in helium...

What would the world be like - If everyone was completely depressed and we all sat around every day and did nothing...

What would the world be like - If insects were the size of humans, and they drove cars...

Superior Intellect?

Does man actually have the superior intellect of all the creatures on this blue planet of ours? Is there any way of really knowing? Or do we, as humans, simply assume that we have the greater knowledge?
Dolphins have a permanent smile planted on their faces. Coincidence? I don't think so. They figured something out a long time ago. With no natural enemies except of course, man, they swim the blue oceans free and easy. Not even bothered by the worlds most feared predator, the shark. Their bodies are a perfect design. Made to swim and glide through the water effortlessly. Something worked with these guys. And it turns out they're pretty smart too. Do they have computers? No. Do they need em'? No. Do they have fancy buildings and cars? No. Do they need em'? No. Money? War? Greed? Hunger? Religion? Politics? No. Do they need it? No.
Are you so sure humans are the smartest living things on earth?
Are you?

PLuto

Thinking about how this lonely little rogue object from the Kuiper Belt becomes a planet. Why, because we still have no idea about what's going on in the sky. The Solar System. The Galaxy. The Universe. None. No clue. You can read books. You can get some basic information. But you won't learn anything.

This little ball of gas and dust, pair shaped as it is, with it's little brother Charon, acts like a comet more than it does a planet. All the other planets conform to an orbital plane, Pluto doesn't. At certain times of the year Pluto is closer to the sun than Neptune is and cuts through Neptune's orbit. Clearly the characteristics of a comet and not a planet.

Not much bigger than our moon and considered a rogue object from the Kuiper Belt, Pluto is still on the radar. It is, still, in our solar system.

Keep asking questions.

Extremophiles.

"Fracking Idiots"

I am now coining a new term that will soon be widely spread. It is

"Fracking Idiots"

It is all about the morons who are now and have been for years removing natural gas from the ground by means of hydraulic fracturing. They send toxic chemicals into the ground to fracture the shale and surrounding rock to release the gas. What they don't care about is that these chemicals are getting into our fresh water supply. And causing earthquakes in areas that aren't expecting them for thousands of years. Now I ask you, how much longer are we going to allow these incompetent people to run our lives in this country? Why are all our leaders corrupt? It seems as if that is some pre-requisite to becoming elected. You must be corrupt or you stand no chance of winning. Wow. What a horrible state this world is in. We are in a lot of trouble.

You can use the new term in this way. You walk up to one of the natural gas workers you see in the fields near your home and ask, "Hey, what are you a fracking idiot? What are you doing? Get that shit out the ground you fracking idiot....
